Data Modelling

Course Overview
Logical Data Modelling provides the basis for I.T. systems to be flexible and maintainable, whilst providing functionality to support the business. This course gives both theory and exercises in the development of data models. Delegates learn how the data modelling relates to other systems analysis techniques to produce system specifications which define the business requirements. Reference is made to both paper-based and CASE TOOL methods of preparing data models.

Target Audience


Business and Systems Analysts who are required to prepare I.T. Systems requirements. The course is also beneficial to user representatives who will liaise with analysts in the determination of the requirements specification.

Course Content


On completion of the course, delegates will be able to produce data models by:

Identifying the data required to support the business functions
Establishing the business relationships between logical data groups, to enable processes to perform the business functions
