Course Overview
This instructor-led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model, with structured hands-on activities will enable students to learn how to install, configure, and manage a Web site that is based on Microsoft's Internet Information Server 4.0

Target Audience


Students enrolling in this course should be familiar with Internet-related concepts and
terminology, and should be comfortable using a browser (preferably Internet Explorer) and the Internet.

Course Objectives


Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Install Internet Information Server 4.0 and related Option Pack components.
Use Internet Service Manager to manage the WWW service.
Create virtual directories and virtual servers.
Set up and manage an FTP site.
Plan and implement security that includes authenticating users, securing access to files, directories, and sites, and using network-related measures.
Understand public key encryption, implement Secured Sockets Layer security, and install and configure Microsoft Certificate Server.
Log activity on their site and use the Site Server Express tools to manage their site.
Understand the architecture of IIS, monitor and manage the performance of your server, and troubleshoot their server and network.
Install and manage Index Server 2.0 and use its facilities for searching the content of their site.
Explore the Javascript, JScript, and VBScript scripting languages and the Microsoft Script Debugger, implement the Active Server Pages Web technology to produce dynamic Web pages and to connect to databases, and explore the ActiveX and Java programming technologies.
Understand the purpose, features and architecture of Microsoft Transaction Server.
Enable mail (SMTP) and news (NNTP) services on their site, send and receive email messages via the SMTP Service, and create newsgroups and post messages to those newsgroups with the NNTP Service.

Upon
