Course Overview
This course provides a hands-on approach to Quest’s application TOAD. Delegates will learn how to create SQL scripts and PL/SQL programs using the application. They will also learn how to create objects such as tables and indexes along with how to maintain individual tables through creating constraints, adding/dropping constraints etc.

In addition they will learn how to set up TOAD to cater for their personal development needs and how to use the application to improve the efficiency of the code they produce. They will also get an insight into the features available to help DBAs perform their daily, weekly and monthly tasks.

Course Objectives


By the end of the course attendees will be able to:

• Set the startup options for a tailored TOAD
• Use SQL Editor to produce SQL scripts
• Save results of scripts to a number of formats
• Use the Procedure Editor to create PL/SQL
• View different objects using the Schema Browser
• Invoke SQL Tuning using TOAD’s tuning tools
• Look at different methods for debugging
• Monitor the database using TOAD-DBA module
