Course Overview
This instructor-led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model, with structured hands- and minds-on activities with independent lab activities will enable students to learn how to install and manage a variety of optional services in Windows 2000 and how to manage an Active Directory forest containing multiple trees.

Target Audience


Students enrolling in this course should understand basic networking technologies and be able to administer a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain.

Course Objectives


Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Analyse the system architecture of Windows 2000.
Analyse and troubleshoot the Windows 2000 startup process.
Implement a disaster recovery plan with Windows 2000.
Manage DOS and Windows applications running on a Windows 2000 system.
Use DHCP to automatically configure TCP/IP client computers.
Resolve NetBIOS-based computer names to IP addresses on a TCP/IP network.
Use DNS to resolve IP addresses to host names.
Create a forest of Active Directory domains.
Create group policies to manage users' work environments.
Use the Group Policy Editor to deploy applications and scripts to network clients.
Support and manage client systems on a Windows 2000 network.
Inter-operate with a Novell NetWare network.
Implement Dial-Up Networking (DUN) in a Windows 2000 environment.
Create remote connections by using Virtual Private Networking, and secure all remote connections.
