Tutor Spotlight with Delia Casey
Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 7:09PM What is it you love about being in the classroom?
I really enjoy getting to meet new people – and seeing them develop during a course makes it exciting, challenging and rewarding. I have a genuine desire to help people and I really can’t see myself doing anything else, I still get a buzz I get at the end of each course.
What makes a good trainer?
A good trainer should be able to handle any situation and keep calm – no matter what is being thrown at them. There are always going to be occasional hiccups when delivering courses on company sites – PCs not working, rooms being too small, delegates turning up late – but the key when this happens is just to improvise, think on your feet and of course not make a big deal out of it.
Who would be your ideal dinner party guests?
My family of course, especially dad who passed away recently. And I’d also invite Boyzone! Why? Because I love them! (Note from Jamie : we promise you that Delia is not 14 years old!).
What do you do when not in the training suite?
I enjoy spending time developing new courses, new clients and of course developing myself! I love spending time with my family, especially my 6 year old as we share a love of Irish Dancing and Irish Music.
