PENTLAND - TRAINING YOUR WAY  |  OCTOBER 2010             Issue:2

Welcome back to Pentland!

It’s great to have you here for the second edition of the Pentland newsletter.

We have had some amazing feedback following our rebrand and relaunch of our web-site in the summer, and are really pleased that our new, easy to use web-site has made it much simpler to find out vital course information for our customers.

We were really surprised to learn that not all of our clients knew about the full range of courses that we can deliver, many thought we were only active in one or two areas. Rest assured – our areas of expertise are plentiful and our trainers are the best in their field. Whatever your training requirement, chances are we can help, so please do contact us if you would like to discuss your brief further and we’d be happy to come in for a free, no-obligation chat.

This month, we’ll be talking about Business Applications, and have some great articles on two of Microsoft’s best-sellers – Office 2010 and SharePoint. We also hope that through both the web-site and these quarterly newsletters, we’ll be able to share with you our full range of expertise.

We look forward to welcoming you on a Pentland programme soon, in the meantime, happy reading!

I’ve been there too and battled with the problems this brings;lost email due to spam filters, multiple people making changes to the same document and that is just the beginning. Read More...

What is it you love about being in the classroom?

I really enjoy getting to meet new people – and seeing them develop during a course makes it exciting, challenging and rewarding. I have a genuine desire to help people and I really can’t see myself doing anything else,I still get a buzz I get at the end of each course.

What makes a good trainer?

A good trainer should be able to handle any situation and keep calm – no matter what is being thrown at them. There are always going to be occasional hiccups when delivering courses on company sites – PCs not working, rooms being too small, delegates turning up late – but the key when this happens is just to improvise, think on your feet and of course not make a big deal out of it.
